Jon Allen’s stem doet denken aan een mix van Rod Stewart, Van Morrison en Sam Cooke uitgedrukt in songs die direct een bekend gevoel oproepen. Oorspronkelijk ontdekt door Mark Knopfler in 2006 (die hem later aanbood gitaar te spelen in zijn band), brak Allen door met de single ‘In Your Light’ van zijn debuutalbum ‘Dead Man’s Suit’ uit 2009. In mei kwam Jon Allen’s vierde album ‘Blue Flame’ uit waarbij zijn door folkrock gedreven geluid wordt aangevuld met een meer blue-eyed soul benadering die ernaar streeft de aardsheid van vroege Stax- en Atlantic Records opnames te vangen in nummers als ‘Keep On Walking’ en ‘Stay’.

How to get to Tolhuistuin

Tolhuistuin (formerly Paradiso Noord) is located at IJpromenade 2 in Amsterdam North. A free ferry is departing from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. Turn left and you’ll walk into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance is used (Buiksloterweg 5C), which can be reached via the Overhoeksplein.

Restaurant
Tolhuistuin also has a restaurant in which you can have a bite before the show. We advise to make a reservation in advance via this website.
