Due to COVID-19 related restrictions, the concert of Wargirl had to be postponed until further notice. Together with the artist we tried to reschedule, but unfortunately we haven't been able to find a new date for this event. Therefore, this concert is cancelled. Wargirl is de band rondom de gerenommeerde producer Matt Wignall, die onder andere het geluid van Cold War Kids op de kaart heeft gezet. In het gezelschap van vijf andere getalenteerde muzikanten uit Californië maakt hij een mengelmoes van funk, dub, disco, garagerock en afrobeat. De teksten zijn beladen met politieke boodschappen en zijn zo maatschappijkritisch als maar kan. De eerste veelzijdige, groovy nummers waren te horen op debuut EP ‘Arbolita’ en in 2019 kwam hun zelfgetitelde eerste album uit. Opvallend zijn de sterke vocalen van Samantha Parks, dochter van James Lafayette Parks van Bull & The Matadors, die het ene moment prachtig zingt en daarna net zo makkelijk het geluid van de band opschudt met een venijnige en rauwe stem.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
