Zanger, songwriter en begenadigd gitarist Marcus King maakte met debuutalbum ‘Soul Insight’ in 2015 direct een sterke indruk. Zijn ‘soul-influenced psychedelic southern rock’ combineert een oud geluid met nieuwe energie en komt met zijn band ‘The Marcus King Band’ live het best tot zijn recht. Op zijn tweede langspeler ‘The Marcus King Band’ uit 2016 riep King de hulp in van voorbeelden Derek Trucks (speelt gitaar op ‘Self-Hatred’) en levende legende Warren Haynes (bekend van o.a. Gov’t Mule, The Allman Brothers Band en The Dead). Met name Haynes had een grote bijdrage gezien hij het album ook produceerde. King en zijn band zitten niet stil, in oktober 2017 verscheen de ‘Due North’ EP en vorig jaar was daar alweer het volwaardig album ‘Carolina Confessions’.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
