The Divine Comedy is de alias van Neil Hannon. In de vroege jaren ’90 wist Neil al een redelijke cultstatus te bereiken in de britpop door samen met voormalig bandleden John McCullagh en Kevin Traynor de EP ‘Fanfare for the Comic Muse’ uit te brengen. Nadat de band in 1993 stopte, besloot Neil Hannon het project solo voort te zetten. Zo solo kan men The Divine Comedy echter niet noemen, aangezien Hannon live wordt begeleid door een volledig orkest. The Divine Comedy maakt een orchestrale mix van barokpop, indie en britpop. 'Office Politics' is het twaalfde album en bevat flamboyante, rijkelijk gearrangeerde nummers over alledaagse relaties.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
