Josh Rouse is een Amerikaanse singer-songwriter die sinds zijn bejubelde debuut uit 1998, ‘Dressed Up Like Nebraska’, al meer dan twaalf albums uitbracht. In 2006 had Rouse een indie folk hit te pakken met “Quiet Town” van het album ‘Subtitulo’. Dat Rouse niet bang is om te experimenteren blijkt uit zijn album ‘El Turista’ (2010) waarvoor hij enkele nummers volledig in het Spaans schreef. Ongetwijfeld geïnspireerd door zijn geliefde met wie hij in 2006 naar Valencia verhuisde. Zijn meest recente werk ‘The Embers of Time’ is volgens Rouse zijn meest “surreële, therapeutische, expat album”.

Josh Rouse is in hetzelfde straatje te plaatsen als collega muzikanten Ryan Adams en Conor Oberst, zijn muziek wordt gekenmerkt door sprankelende, hoopvolle melodieën en herkenbare teksten.

How to get to Tolhuistuin

Tolhuistuin (formerly Paradiso Noord) is located at IJpromenade 2 in Amsterdam North. A free ferry runs from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. From there, turn left and you’ll walk straight into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance (Buiksloterweg 5C) is used. This entrance can be reached via Overhoeksplein

Restaurant
Tolhuistuin also has a restaurant where you can enjoy a meal before the show. We recommend making a reservation in advance via this website.
