Jeangu Macrooy begon zijn muzikale reis toen hij op zijn dertiende een gitaar kreeg van zijn ouders en met tweelingbroer Xillan een muzikaal duo begon. In 2014 besloot hij zijn carrière voort te zetten in Nederland en vertrok uit Suriname. Er ontstond een muzikale samenwerking met producer Perquisite en hij werd getekend bij diens label Unexpected Records. In 2017 kwam zijn succesvolle debuutalbum ‘High On You’ uit dat lovende recensies ontving en een nominatie ontving voor een Edison Pop.
Sindsdien gaat het hard. Onlangs was hij de uitverkorene om Nederland te representeren op het Eurovisie Songfestival. Hiervoor schreef hij het nummer 'Birth Of AÂ New Age'. Een krachtig lied over moed en veerkracht, een mix van Surinaamse elementen met de Engelse taal.

How to get to Paradiso
Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.Â
