Alynda Segarra is geboren en opgegroeid in de Bronx, New York. Op zeventienjarige leeftijd rent die weg van huis en weg van alles en iedereen. Na rond te hebben gedwaald komt Segarra tot rust in New Orleans. Hier ontstaat ook Hurray for the Riff Raff en creëert in 2016 het geprezen moderne folkalbum 'The Navigator', waarop diens Puerto Ricaanse identiteit centraal staat. Het album 'Life On Earth' uit 2022 is een nieuwe richting voor de singer-songwriter. De elf nieuwe 'nature punk' nummers over het thema van overleven zijn muziek voor een wereld in verandering - nummers over gedijen, niet alleen overleven, terwijl rampen plaatsvinden. Opvolger 'The Past Is Still Alive' klinkt als het volgende hoofdstuk; Segarra reflecteert met moderne folkrocknummers op diens leven tot nu toe waarin geen gevoel of herinnering privé lijkt te zijn.

How to get to Tolhuistuin

Tolhuistuin (formerly Paradiso Noord) is located at IJpromenade 2 in Amsterdam North. A free ferry runs from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. From there, turn left and you’ll walk straight into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance (Buiksloterweg 5C) is used. This entrance can be reached via Overhoeksplein

Restaurant
