Het verhaal van de Japanse jazzcomponist en -pianist Hiromi begint wanneer zij op zesjarige leeftijd klassieke pianostukken leert spelen. Ze wordt door haar leermeester Noriko Hikida geïntroduceerd tot jazz en haar talent blijft niet onopgemerkt. Op haar zeventiende ontmoet ze jazzlegende Chick Corea die haar uitnodigt om mee te spelen bij zijn concert in Tokyo. Dankzij haar onmiskenbare talent en creativiteit, maar ook de bezielende begeleiding van respecteerde muzikanten als Richard Evans en Ahmad Jamal, werd haar eerste album 'Another Mind', die zij in 2003 uitbracht, een groot succes in Amerika en Japan. Inmiddels betovert ze al twee decennia wereldwijd een groot publiek met haar creatieve composities en bijzondere optredens waarin zij de grenzen van jazz, klassiek en pop in elkaar laat overlopen.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
