Het jonge vierkoppige Dragonfruit is “Born out of a love for sample-hiphop and neo-soul”. De band uit Rotterdam bestaat uit vocalist Danique van der Vlugt, toetsenist en bandleider Anton de Bruin, bassist Bryan Manuel en drummer Thijmen Molema. Dragonfruit maakt frisse neo-soul en alt-r&b, geïnspireerd door hiphop, jazz, funk en elektronische muziek en een divers arsenaal aan artiesten, van Hiatus Kaiyote tot BADBADNOTGOOD en J Dilla. Dragonfruit bracht in 2019 in eigen beheer hun eerste singles 'Gears Of The Giant Machine' en 'Some Say' uit, waarna ze tekenden op het Amsterdamse boutiquelabel Super-Sonic Jazz Records. De daaropvolgende singles 'Apples' en 'Wasted' deden het zowel nationaal als internationaal goed; zo heeft de band inmiddels al meer dan een miljoen Spotify streams op de teller staan en kreeg Dragonfruit aandacht van o.a. 3FM, Sublime en grote internationale muziekblogs als EARMILK. Op 17 oktober presenteert Dragonfruit tijdens ADE hun debuutalbum met een show in de kleine zaal van Paradiso.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
