De 28-jarige Ari Lennox uit Washington D.C. maakte in 2016 naam en faam met haar debuut-EP 'Pho'. De veelgeprezen plaat werd uitgebracht door Dreamville, het vooraanstaande label van rapper J.Cole. De zangeres put haar inspiratie onder andere uit het werk van grootheden zoals Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Minnie Riperton en Whitney Houston. Haar eigen nummers omschrijft ze als gevoelig en soulvol - twee continu terugkerende elementen die ze ook laat terugkeren . Het eerste studioalbum van Ari Lennox kwam begin mei uit en daarop experimenteert ze met een speelser en funkier geluid. "Sometimes women are put in this box where we’re only supposed to talk about certain things. I want to be braver and riskier. I think people want to hear that kind of honesty and frankness", aldus Ari Lennox.

How to get to Tolhuistuin

Tolhuistuin (formerly Paradiso Noord) is located at IJpromenade 2 in Amsterdam North. A free ferry runs from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. From there, turn left and you’ll walk straight into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance (Buiksloterweg 5C) is used. This entrance can be reached via Overhoeksplein

Restaurant
