Het is te makkelijk om Young Fathers te omschrijven als een lo-fi r&b trio. De muziek van de Schotse Alloysious Massaquoi, Kayus Bankole en G. Hastings beslaat evengoed de genres hiphop, punk, dub, gospel en punk. In 2014 werd het debuutalbum 'Dead' uitgebracht en nog in datzelfde jaar won Young Fathers de prestigieuze Mercury Prize. In 2015 volgt het tweede album 'White Men Are Black Men Too', daarna gingen ze op tournee met Massive Attack, waarmee ze samen het nummer 'Voodoo In My Blood' maakten en dit jaar werkten ze aan de soundtrack van Trainspotting T2, waarbij ze 'Only God Knows' speciaal voor de film schreven. 2018 gaat in het teken staan van het derde album en een daarbij horende wereldtournee.

How to get to Tolhuistuin

Tolhuistuin (formerly Paradiso Noord) is located at IJpromenade 2 in Amsterdam North. A free ferry is departing from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. Turn left and you’ll walk into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance is used (Buiksloterweg 5C), which can be reached via the Overhoeksplein.

Restaurant
Tolhuistuin also has a restaurant in which you can have a bite before the show. We advise to make a reservation in advance via this website.
