Program is half seated, half standing

Thor Harris is percussionist, schrijver, timmerman en full-time Texaanse weirdo. Hij heeft zich in 2017 kandidaat gesteld voor gouverneur van Texas, speelde met Amanda Palmer, Bill Callahan, Shearwater, Ben Frost, Devendra Banhart en Lawrence English, maar desondanks is hij vooral bekend als drummer bij de luide, intense en experimentele noise-rockband Swans. Onder de naam ‘Thor And Friends’ wordt gedurfd nóg meer te experimenteren, met invloeden van minimalistische componisten als Terry Riley en Steve Reich, maar put ook uit uiteenlopende bronnen als Brian Eno, Aphex Twin, Moondog en The Necks. Alle mogelijke instrumenten passeren de revue; van hamerslagen, marimba, xylofoon en vibrafoon tot verwerkt pedaalstaal, duduk en hobo.

How to get to Tolhuistuin

Tolhuistuin (formerly Paradiso Noord) is located at IJpromenade 2 in Amsterdam North. A free ferry runs from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. From there, turn left and you’ll walk straight into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance (Buiksloterweg 5C) is used. This entrance can be reached via Overhoeksplein

Restaurant
Tolhuistuin also has a restaurant where you can enjoy a meal before the show. We recommend making a reservation in advance via this website.
