Graham Coxon en Rose Elinor Dougall ontmoeten elkaar als ze beiden met hun ziel onder hun arm lopen. Als vage kennissen beginnen ze samen aan een project waarbij ze hun gevoelens willen omzetten in muziek. Met een wederzijdse liefde voor Engelse folkmuziek, verhalen over het leven en de schoonheid van (ruige) natuur wordt the Waeve geboren. Met hun stemmen, piano, drum, saxofoons en synths maken ze cinematische muziek, die hoop in een wereld vol wanhoop moet representeren. Begin 2023 komt debuutplaat 'the WAEVE' uit, waarop postpunk wordt gemengd met melodische synths, folk en spanning.
