The Twilight Sad komt uit het grimmige Glasgow. De band maakt muziek die zich laat omschrijven als de perfecte mix van Arab Strab, Interpol, Mogwai, My Bloody Valentine, Sigur Ros en U2. Invloeden waar de band zelf Van Dyke Parks en Phil Spector aan toevoegt. Het indrukwekkende debuutalbum ‘Fourteen Autumns and Fifteen Winters’ werd in 2007 uitgebracht, en werd gekenmerkt door shoegazende gitaren en het dikke Schotse accent van zanger James Graham. Dat herhaalde de heren op de drie volgende albums, waarvan 'Nobody Wants to Be Here and Nobody Wants to Leave' uit 2014 vooralsnog de meest recente is. Wel bracht de band in juli de nieuwe single 'I/m Not Here [missing face]’ uit. Live bouwt The Twilight Sad stevige en zeer luide geluidsmuren op, wat voor een overweldigende performance zorgt.

How to get to Tolhuistuin

Tolhuistuin (formerly Paradiso Noord) is located at IJpromenade 2 in Amsterdam North. A free ferry is departing from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. Turn left and you’ll walk into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance is used (Buiksloterweg 5C), which can be reached via the Overhoeksplein.

Restaurant
Tolhuistuin also has a restaurant in which you can have a bite before the show. We advise to make a reservation in advance via this website.
