Sinds 1960 zorgen de heren van The Sonics voor flink wat opwinding in de wereld van garagerock. Nog voordat leden van beïnvloedde bands als The White Stripes, Nirvana en The Hives nog in de luiers zaten, verdiend The Sonics al hun sporen met onstuimige en opzwepende hits als ‘Psycho’ en ‘Have Love, Will Travel’ die lokaal scoorde. In 1968 legt de band het bijltje erbij neer om deze om de paar jaar voor even weer op te pakken. Sinds 2007, je mag ze ondertussen een cultband noemen, is The Sonics niet meer weg te slaan van het podium en daar mogen we blij mee zijn. De band was belangrijk voor de sound van een hele generatie en is dat nog steeds voor een heleboel nieuwkomers vandaag de dag.

How to get to Tolhuistuin

Tolhuistuin (formerly Paradiso Noord) is located at IJpromenade 2 in Amsterdam North. A free ferry runs from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. From there, turn left and you’ll walk straight into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance (Buiksloterweg 5C) is used. This entrance can be reached via Overhoeksplein

Restaurant
Tolhuistuin also has a restaurant where you can enjoy a meal before the show. We recommend making a reservation in advance via this website.
