The Slow Readers Club is een vierkoppige band uit Manchester. Dat ze uit het Verenigd Koninkrijk komen is duidelijk te horen. Dit is niet per sé te danken aan het Britse accent van zanger Aaron Starkie, maar vooral aan het feit dat de heren rasechte herkenbare Britpop maken. Keiharde gitaarrifs gecombineerd met dansbare electropop zorgen voor een duistere sound die toch sfeervol is. Singles als ‘Lunatic’ en ‘You Opened Up My Heart’ zijn opgepikt op radiostations BBC 6Music, XS Radio en Radio X. In 2018 brachten de Britten het album ‘Build a Tower’ uit, waarmee ze nu op tour gaan.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
