The Midnight's concert at Paradiso on March 3, 2021 is postponed until April 29, 2022. The location and times have not changed. Bought tickets remain valid for the new date of the concert. All ticket buyers will receive an e-mail with details shortly. We kindly request visitors to refrain from approaching us for more information by email or telephone.

It is with heavy hearts that we have to announce that our upcoming headline tour in the EU/UK will have to be re-scheduled. If you already purchased tickets, they will remain valid for the re-scheduled date. If you wish to get a refund, please contact your ticketing provider to do so.

Het Deens-Amerikaanse synthwaveduo The Midnight komt terug naar Paradiso. Het tweetal bestaat uit producer Tim McEwan en singer-songwriter Tyler Lyle. Beiden heren hadden ook voordat ze samen de krachten bundelden als The Midnight al succes als muzikant: zo werkte McEwan als producer voor P. Diddy en was Lyle actief in de Americana-scene.

The Midnight put veel inspiratie uit de jaren ’80: de aanstekelijke en spacey synthesizer pop wekt nostalgische gevoelens op en doet denken aan de gloriejaren van de Amerikaanse mall-cultuur, aan klassieke high school film drama’s als The Breakfast Club en Sixteen Candles en de muziek van artiesten van Giorgio Moroder tot Depeche Mode.

Een belangrijk element van het werk van The Midnight is daarnaast de visuele kunst waarmee de band hun muziek begeleidt via hun singles, video’s en coverart. Tim McEwan: “I love the visual side of the music, adding that dimension and building that world is so fun. You’re able to be much more precise with what you want the listener to feel.”

Na de albums ‘’Endless Summer’’ uit 2016 en ‘’Kids’’ uit 2018 brengt The Midnight in juli 2020 hun derde langspeler '''Monsters'' uit. Op 29 april 2022 staat de band – dus inclusief een nieuw album op zak – in Paradiso.
