Super-Sonic Jazz 2020 op 21 en 22 oktober kan in verband met de aangescherpte coronamaatregelen helaas niet plaatsvinden met publiek. Het festival gaat echter wel door als online festival: alle artiesten op de line-up geven alsnog een concert in Paradiso. Deze shows worden professioneel vastgelegd en medio november (gratis) online uitgezonden. Alle kaartkopers ontvangen een e-mail met meer informatie. De uitzenddatum van het online festival wordt binnenkort bekendgemaakt.

Super-Sonic Jazz 2020 on October 21 and 22 can unfortunately not take place with a live audience due to the enhanced corona measures. However, the festival will continue as an online festival: all artists on the line-up will still give a concert in Paradiso. These shows are professionally recorded and broadcast online (for free) in mid-November. All ticket buyers will receive an email with more information. The broadcast date of the online festival will be announced shortly.

On October 21 and 22, the fourth edition of the annual Super-Sonic Jazz Festival will take place at Paradiso Amsterdam. This year the event will take place as a small scale, corona proof seated event as part of the Amsterdam Dance Event.

Talent development platform Super-Sonic Jazz started in 2016 as a series of concerts and club nights in Paradiso to provide a stage for the new wave of contemporary jazz musicians. An annual festival and the launch of the independent record label Super-Sonic Jazz Records followed. With experimental programming that blends traditional jazz with contemporary genres such as hip-hop, neo-soul, R&B and electronic music, Super-Sonic Jazz pushes the boundaries of what jazz culture means to listeners, enthusiasts and artists alike. The main goal of Super-Sonic Jazz is to create a fertile musical ecosystem in Amsterdam.

This year, the fourth edition of the festival will take place as a small scale and corona-proof seated event, as part of the official Amsterdam Dance Event program. 200 visitors are welcomed in Paradiso during two festival days.

Safety measures

We have taken extensive safety measures to prepare Paradiso for small scale concerts and programmes. We can accommodate a maximum of 260 visitors and there is special routing throughout the building, so everyone can keep a 1,5 meter distance from others.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
