Sons Of An Illustrious Father is de groep rondom Ezra Miller. De 25-jarige acteur is bekend van grote Hollywoodfilms zoals Justice League, Perks of Being a Wallflower en Fantastic Beasts. In Sons Of An Illustrious Father speelt Ezra Miller samen met zijn oude klasgenoot Lilah Larson, een muzikale alleskunner met een fluwelen stem. Aangevuld met bassist en keyboardspeler Josh Aubin klinkt de band een beetje punk, een beetje rauw, maar ook een beetje folk. Zelf omschrijven ze het als "genre queer". Op hun derde album 'Deus Sex Machina: or, Moving Slowly Beyond Nikola Tesla' laat de band een meer elektronisch geluid horen.
