Pom Pom Squad begon als een soloproject van frontvrouw Mia Birrin. Ze was pas achttien en verhuisde naar New York om te studeren. Haar eerste single bracht ze uit tijdens haar eerste week studeren. Deze werd gelijk opgepikt door een radiostation in Brooklyn. Haar muziek is geïnspireerd door de Riot Grrrl beweging. Ze bracht in 2017, samen met een vroege versie van de band, haar debuut EP uit. Inmiddels is het project gegroeid tot volwaardige band met vier leden. Dit jaar bracht zij haar eerste album uit. Op dit album ontdekt zij haar identiteit als queer, multiracial vrouw, die zij niet gerepresenteerd zag in rockmuziek.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
