"It’s with great regret that we have to cancel the shows this weekend in Amsterdam and Brussels as Nico is not able to perform due to an injury in his hand. Following the first set of dates on the tour Nico had an operation on his right hand to remove a growth. Unfortunately there was a complication in the healing process caused by performing the piano in the first rehearsal after the operation. The doctors have now advised not to play the piano for minimum two weeks to allow the hand to recover and prevent any long term damage to the tendons in the hand."

Aan zijn carrière als filmcomponist heeft Nico Casal een wel heel bijzonder beeldje overgehouden: In 2016 schreef hij de muziek voor de korte film 'Stutterer' en won daarmee een Oscar. Tegenwoordig speelt Nico Casal vooral de soundtrack van zijn eigen leven. In zijn prachtige instrumentale pianoliedjes, subtiel ondersteund door synthesizer en snaren, beschrijft de Spaanse componist een onrustige periode uit zijn leven. Het definitieve einde van een romantische relatie wordt instrumentaal vertaald naar akkoorden die verwateren in stilte zonder volledig in een climax te ontploffen. Dit voorjaar verschijnt zijn debuutalbum 'Alone'.
