De virtuoze Amerikaanse soul- en jazzgitarist Naia Izumi werd als tiener gediagnosticeerd met autisme. Hij heeft moeite met sociale interactie, oogcontact, woorden en lichaamstaal. Hij leerde echter om zijn gevoelens te uiten door middel van zijn muziek. Hoe dat klinkt? Izumi heeft een honingzoete soulstem die hij omlijst met zijn unieke vorm van tapping gitaarspel. In 2018 deed hij mee aan NPR's Tiny Desk Contest, waar hij als winnaar uit de bus kwam en in 2021 bracht hij zijn debuutalbum 'A Residency in the Los Angeles Area' uit, gemaakt met producer Tony Berg (bekend van zijn werk met Peter Gabriel en Phoebe Bridgers). Op 28 oktober geeft hij een concert in Paradiso in Amsterdam.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
