De afgelopen jaren maakte Monophonics naam als talentvolle begeleidingsband van de Fransman Ben L'Oncle Soul. De vijfkoppige band uit San Francisco haalde daarna de zanger en toetsenist Kelly Finnigan in huis en heeft daarmee een prachtige stem die als een handschoen past bij de vintage funk en soul met psychedelische invloeden die Monophonics produceert. Vorig jaar bracht het gezelschap hun derde studio album genaamd ‘It’s Only Us’ uit. Het is een boodschap van eenheid, kracht, weerstand en acceptatie. Op het album hoor je invloeden van Brothers of Soul, Rotary Connection en Dee Edwards.

How to get to Tolhuistuin
Tolhuistuin (formerly Paradiso Noord) is located at IJpromenade 2 in Amsterdam North. A free ferry is departing from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. Turn left and you’ll walk into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance is used (Buiksloterweg 5C), which can be reached via the Overhoeksplein. Restaurant THT serves an extensive menu for any music lover – making a reservation is recommended.
