Al bijna twintig jaar bouwt Laura Veirs aan haar repertoire, en dit jaar verschijnt dan ook haar tiende album 'The Lookout' waarop opnieuw te horen is wat de singer-songwriter uit Portland allemaal in haar mars heeft. De cd staat vol met uitstekende onnavolgbare folkpop-liedjes. Karl Blau, Steve Moore, Eli Moore, Eyvind Kang en Tucker Martine werkte mee aan het album, en er zijn gastbijdrages te horen van Sufjan Stevens en Jim James. Veirs mooie stem en de sfeervolle, spannende composities van al deze artiesten samengevoegd, zorgen voor een unieke finishing touch.Â
