Artist statement
"So sorry to have to announce (again) that we are cancelling the UK/Europe run as Covid continues to surge and I just wouldn't feel comfortable putting the safety of myself, touring party, and attendees at risk. I was looking so forward to touring again after so long. Refunds will be available as we work on new dates. Thanks for understanding!"

Zangeres en producer Julianna Barwick maakt harmonieuze electronica, laag voor laag opgebouwd rondom loops van haar eigen stem. De rustige en vaak geïmproviseerde producties van de Amerikaanse doen denken aan ambient en drone, maar zijn door de woordeloze zangpartijen zeker niet minimalistisch te noemen. In haar muziek hoor je de invloed van het kerkkoor waarin ze vroeger zong goed terug.
Vorig jaar verscheen Julianna's vierde album 'Healing Is a Miracle' via Ninja Tune. Op de plaat is een grote rol weggelegd voor strijkers en zocht ze bijzondere samenwerkingen op met zanger Jónsi (Sigur Rós), producer Nosaj Thing en harpiste Mary Lattimore.

How to get to Vondelkerk
The Vondel Church is on Vondelstraat 120A. That is right at the Vondelpark and Leidseplein. Take tram 1, 2 or 5 and get out at the Leidseplein stop. From there on out it is a 10 minute walk to the Vondel Church.
