Grant-Lee Phillips, ook bekend als de zanger van Grant Lee Buffalo, is terug met zijn inmiddels negende soloalbum. De singer-songwriter uit Californië staat bekend om zijn karakteristieke stem en Americana. Het vakmanschap van Phillips is onomstreden; al in de jaren ’90 werd hij bekend als de frontman van de ietwat mysterieuze band Grant Lee Buffalo, die mondiale faam verwierf met de single ‘Fuzzy’. Met zijn nieuwe album ‘Widdershins’ is Phillips weer terug en bewijst hij eens te meer dat hij tot de top van de Americana singer-songwriters behoort.

‘I’m drawing from the urgency of the moment,’ zegt Phillips over zijn negende studioalbum ‘Widdershins’. Geïnspireerd door de zaken die aan je vreten in de nachtelijke uren heeft Phillips de inzichten, nuances en gedachten die hieruit voortkomen omgezet in interessante analyses van het hedendaagse beladen sociale landschap.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
