De Londense Freya Ridings creëert met haar songs volledige werelden waar je je helemaal in kunt verliezen. Haar debuutsingle ‘Blackout’ kwam mei vorig jaar uit en genereerde al veel aandacht voor de jonge songwriter. Er is nog geen volledig album, maar ze wist haar ingetogen en eerlijke songs al wel te vangen op een live-album opgenomen in St. Pancras Old Church in Londen. Haar tweede single ‘Maps’ is een cover van de Yeah Yeah Yeahs, waar Ridings haar volledige ziel en zaligheid in legt, en op smaakvolle wijze haar eigen versie van maakt. Haar optreden op de afgelopen editie van 7 Layers Festival was een groot succes, dus dat je in Bitterzoet ook van veel moois kunt gaan genieten staat al vast.
