De Amerikaanse singer-songwriter Emily King is beïnvloed door pop, rock en R&B. Dit is duidelijk terug te horen in haar composities, waar in elk detail de vaardigheden en het spelplezier van Emily King naar voren komt. De zangeres uit New York maakt veel gebruik van ritmische elementen en vintage synthesizers. Op die manier klinkt er een bepaalde warmte in haar muziek, wat perfect past bij haar weelderig gepolijste stem. Emily King werd voor haar debuutalbum uit 2007 direct genomineerd voor een prestigieuze Grammy Award. Dit voorjaar verschijnt het nieuwe album 'Scenery'.
