Het Canadese Chiiild maakt naar eigen zeggen ‘synthetic soul’. Dat komt als het ware neer op een originele combinatie van psychedelische r&b, retro-soul, groovende indiepop en gelaagde elektronica. Begin 2020 verscheen de debuut-EP, niet geheel toevallig ook ‘Synthetic Soul’ getiteld. Hierop laat hij een tijdloos geluid horen, dat zowel fris en genre-overschrijdend als retro klinkt. Na een grote tournee als support van Emotional Oranges in 2019 keert Chiiild terug naar Amsterdam, maar nu voor een eigen clubshow in Bitterzoet.
