De Amerikaanse band Calexico is vernoemd naar een stadje op de grens van Amerika en Mexico en dat is te horen in hun muziek: een botsing van country & western en feestelijke mariachi. Bij een Calexico-concert sta je het ene moment weg te dromen bij een zich hallucinant voortslepend nummer, om meteen daarna wakker geschud te worden door een uptempo Mexicaans deuntje met feestblazers. In januari verschijnt het negende album van de band, ‘The Thread That Keeps Us’', wat precies tijd genoeg geeft om de nummers mee te kunnen dansen en zingen twee maanden later.

How to get to Paradiso
Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.Â
