Big Thief is de eigenzinnige formatie rond zangeres/gitarist Adrianne Lenker en gitarist Buck Meek. De gruizige en melodieuze indierock wordt afgewisseld met zo nu en dan meer psychedelische folk aandoende songs. De band houdt er op een plezierige wijze een speelse repertoire op na vol expressieve zang, tempowisselingen en opvallende (gitaar)solo’s. Aangevuld met een bassist en drummer klinkt de muziek iets ‘wilder’ en is er een dieper laagje nostalgie aan toegevoegd. Dat is te horen op het goed ontvangen debuutalbum 'Masterpiece', welke in 2016 verscheen.
