Als wij Biffy Clyro zeggen, zeg jij... MTV Unplugged? Je zou het niet zeggen met een band die bekend staat om de luide gitaren en explosieve liveshows, maar afgelopen november trad het trio in de voetsporen van onder meer Nirvana, Mariah Carey, Alice in Chains, R.E.M., Oasis en Eric Clapton toen de Schotten een Unplugged-optreden opnamen. In mei verschijnt hiervan het eerste akoestische album ‘MTV Unplugged: Live At Roundhouse London’, en in de herfst doet Biffy Clyro een korte, exclusieve tour om het dunnetjes over te doen.

De set bevat verrassend goed klinkende stripped-down nummers zoals ‘The Captain’, ‘Black Chandelier’ en ‘Bubbles’ naast nummers die sowieso al tot de subtielere kant van Biffy Clyro horen waaronder ‘Machines’, ‘Many of Horror’, ‘Re-arrange’ en ‘Medicine’. Met “A magical set” omschreef Kerrang! het concert waarmee Biffy Clyro misschien verrast, maar vooral nogmaals bevestigd een flinke dosis kwaliteit in huis te hebben.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
