De Canadese postrock singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist en poëet Alex Henry Foster geeft op 24 juni met zijn begeleidingsband The Long Shadows voor het eerst een concert in Nederland in Paradiso. Alex Henry Foster werd bekend als frontman van de eveneens Canadese postrockband Your Favorite Enemies. Als zijn muzikale invloeden noemt hij bands als My Bloody Valentine, Mogwai en Radiohead en dichters als Ernest Hemingway en Allen Ginsberg. Naast muzikant is Foster ook sociaal werker en activist: zo zet hij zich in voor Amnesty International en komen in zijn teksten maatschappelijke thema's aan bod.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
