Ash Code is surely one of the hottest new bands in the darker musical genres - from oblivion to ubiquity in less than a year. Hailing from Italy, the band is inspired by the 80s British New Wave and synthpop, German EBM and gloomy atmospheres typical of the French coldwave, with their debut album recently released on a Swiss label. Trans-European indeed. Accompanied by the strings of a Fender VI baritone bass guitar and intense drum machines, their live performance is bound to make you dance into oblivion and beyond.

FOOM — dj set — USA — Modern Witch

With very limited tape and CD-R releases on labels such as Disaro and Clan Destine Records, Kristy Foom's Modern Witch has become a true underground reference for creepy, ritualistic dance music, in the muddy but oh so fascinating waters between dark wave and minimal synth. And that's exactly what to expect from her vinyl-only DJ set. Be prepared to be bewitched.

We're very proud 'our' Trish is willing to cherry pick the best records from her impressive collection of vinyl for Dark Allies, even though it's less than 24 hours before the start of her own GRAUZONE festival in the Melkweg. Dark Allies' resident DJ plays a mix of early 80s and ultra modern synthpop, minimal wave, electro, Italo disco and new wave. Like Bowie, Siouxsie, Depeche Mode and The Human League dancing side by side with The Knife, Glass Candy, Tr/st and Savages, in a timeless Blitz, or on echo beach - far away in time.
