Soulsurvivors begon in 2000 als een project voor nieuwe soultalenten uit binnen- en buitenland. De live band Food For Funk begeleidde jonge, nieuwe artiesten bij het uitvoeren van zelf geschreven nummers. Later bracht de band Food For Funk ook eigen materiaal uit, waaronder het album ‘Wake Up’. De formatie is inmiddels uitgegroeid tot een 11-koppige band, met muzikanten die stuk voor stuk hun sporen in de Nederlandse funk- en hiphopwereld hebben verdiend. Zes jaar na zijn laatste optreden in Paradiso keert Soulsurvivors terug.
