The November 12th, 2020 concert of Rustin Man is cancelled due to the artist's cancellation of their European tour, caused by the uncertainty around the Covid-19 situation. Artist statement
With a heavy heart, it saddens me to announce the cancelation of the Rustin Man gigs planned for this November. All summer the band and I have been holding out hope that live music would come back to some kind of normality, or at least sufficiently enough for us to play. But the world has stubbornly remained tits-up, making the whole adventure logistically impossible. I will be talking with the band in the coming weeks to see where we go from here, and obviously will keep you informed of the decisions we make, once the future is less foggy. As I have no immediate plans to reschedule the gigs at the moment, those of you who already have a ticket can get a full refund from the seller. Thank you for all your support and positivity through this unexpected strange year. It’s meant a lot to me.

Maak kennis met het bijzonder fraaie stemgeluid van Paul Webb. In de jaren tachtig was hij de bassist van Talk Talk en in 2002 releasde hij nog een album met Portishead-frontvrouw Beth Gibbons onder de noemer Rustin Man. Maar als leadzanger was hij nog nooit te horen geweest, tot hij in begin 2019 zijn plaat ‘Drift Code’ uitbracht. Webbs eerste album in zestien jaar werd lovend onthaald door onder andere de Volkskrant en Pitchfork; hij wist te verrassen met zijn nostalgische, maar tijdloze nummers met invloeden van Engelse folk en seventies prog-rock. De meeste indruk maakte hij echter met zijn stem, en het is te hopen dat we die in de toekomst nog heel veel gaan horen.
