RAqS returns with a sonic journey of microtonal experimentation, hypnotic techno, and genre-bending electronic expression through the SWANA pulses. For this edition, ARABELLA MEMDOUH, DE.JAY, LYNNMAYYA, SAM:R, and ZOBAYDA come together, each bringing their own musical language, from groovy dark energy to playful synth, and from ancestral rhythms to boundary-pushing electronic sound.

Lynn Mayya

This Syrian-born DJ, producer, and multimedia artist known for her dynamic sound work and experimental audiovisual performances. Based in Berlin, Germany, LYNNMAYYA's journey began as a bassist in Syria’s first female rock band, Karma. Now, as a techno DJ, electronic producer and sound designer, her sets are characterized by groovy techno with a dark-psy twist, blending raw, playful synths and both digital and analog instruments. LYNNMAYYA's work pushes boundaries by incorporating radical societal and political discourse, blending art, technology, and sound to create immersive experiences.

Arabella Memdouh

Amsterdam-based DJ and producer ARABELLA MEMDOUH seamlessly fuses her cultural roots with genre-defying beats. Raised in a musical family, her childhood was immersed in the enchanting melodies of psychedelic rock and Arabic pop, shaping her sound palette along the way. She is also the creative force behind “ATAY collective”, a club night series celebrating the rich diversity of the SWANA music landscape, blending fresh talent with provocative artistic concepts.

Her evolution as a producer is just getting started, since ARABELLA MEMDOUH released her debut listening single “Jadida”, featuring a remix by Landikhan that brought her story to dance floors worldwide.

SAM:R

SAM:R is an Amsterdam based DJ, hailing from Syria where he performed for the underground club scenes of Old Damascus, Homs and Latakia. Having recently relocated to the Netherlands, Sam:R has joined RAqS residency program and is now practicing Microtonal, Hypnotic and Raw Techno music productions.

DE.JAY

A raw energetic force in the world of techno, tech house, and house music. Leaving behind a path in civil engineering, to chase a dream of spreading joy through, building transportations through mixing beats with the rhythms, creating an experience for every crowd or set.

Zobayda

ZOBAYDA is an Egyptian DJ & artist based in Amsterdam. They create spaces that honour the tradition of uniting people through rhythm & percussion. With a focus on energy over genre, ZOBAYDA blends beats & sounds from the global south & its diaspora. Their work also spans photography, archiving & audiovisual art.

Route naar Paradiso

Paradiso is gevestigd aan de Weteringschans 6-8. Dat is dicht bij het Leidseplein en goed bereikbaar met het openbaar vervoer (metro 52 en diverse trams). Je kunt je fiets gratis en bewaakt parkeren in de ondergrondse parkeergarage op het Leidseplein. In de buurt van Paradiso zijn meerdere parkeergarages.
