Super-Sonic Jazz
Kokoroko is een afrobeatband uit Zuid-Londen. De groep staat onder leiding van trompettist Sheila Maurice-Grey, die de jonge bandleden (allen afkomstig van verschillende jazzconservatoria in de stad) bij elkaar bracht. Kokoroko’s muziek klinkt als een moderne variant op de West-Afrikaanse muziek van vroeger, geïnspireerd door iconische artiesten als Fela Kuti, Ebo Taylor en Tony Allen. De groep bestaat naast bandleider Maurice-Grey uit een vaste saxofonist, trombonist, bassist, gitarist en percussionist, en nodigt daarnaast regelmatig bevriende muzikanten uit om hen bij te staan op het podium tijdens hun swingende, energieke liveshows. Afgelopen jaar stond de groep in een uitverkocht Paradiso tijdens Super-Sonic Jazz Festival. Goed nieuws, op 8 november staan ze opnieuw in onze Grote Zaal inclusief nieuw werk.

Super-Sonic Jazz
Super-Sonic Jazz is an Amsterdam-based non-profit platform for exciting artists who move within the universe of jazz. We release music on our independent record label, and in collaboration with Paradiso, we organize concerts, jams, and the annual Super-Sonic Jazz Festival. This year Super-Sonic Jazz Festival 2024 will take place from Wednesday, November 13th to Sunday, November 17th, 2024, at Paradiso, the Amstelkerk and the Vondelkerk in Amsterdam.

Paradiso is gevestigd aan de Weteringschans 6-8. Dat is dicht bij het Leidseplein en goed bereikbaar met het openbaar vervoer (metro 52 en diverse trams). Je kunt je fiets gratis en bewaakt parkeren in de ondergrondse parkeergarage op het Leidseplein. In de buurt van Paradiso zijn meerdere parkeergarages.
