19:00 uur: Opening DREAM AMSTERDAM 2012

21.00 uur: Joan As Police Woman (USA) opent met haar concert DREAM AMSTERDAM 2012 - GIRL, YOU'LL BE A WOMAN SOON. 

De multidisciplinaire kunst- en cultuurmanifestatie GIRL, YOU'LL BE A WOMAN SOON stelt de 'essentie van de vrouw' centraal. Het project is een concept van Jamain Brigitha, directeur en curator van Dream Amsterdam Foundation. De opening stimuleert alle zintuigen en wordt georganiseerd in samenwerking met Paradiso. Laat je betoveren en beleef de essentie van de vrouw door te horen, zien, ruiken, proeven en voelen. Ervaar als eerste het exclusieve parfum dat speciaal voor GIRL, YOU'LL BE A WOMAN SOON is ontworpen door Bernardo Fleming en door heel Paradiso wordt verspreid als een onvergetelijk 'geurevenement'. Het parfum is geïnspireerd op de muzen die Jamain Brigitha heeft geselecteerd. Zij zullen tijdens de opening het parfum ontvangen in een speciale openingsceremonie. De spectaculaire avond bevat film, video, muziek en live performance en poëzie van onder anderen Jesper Just (DK), Mia Berg (SWE), Wonder Allen Smith (UK), VJ Danielle Kwaaitaal (NL) en DJ Jonny Wanha (FI). Joan As Police Woman (USA) bekroont de avond met een geweldig concert van 90 minuten. Het evenement speelt zich ook af op andere locaties in Amsterdam van 30 oktober tot en met 5 december 2012.

9 PM: Joan As Police Woman (USA) opens DREAM AMSTERDAM 2012 - GIRL, YOU'LL BE A WOMAN SOON with her concert.

The multidisciplinary art and cultural event GIRL, YOU'LL BE A WOMAN SOON explores 'The Essence of Woman'. The project is a concept of Jamain Brigitha, founding director and curator of Dream Amsterdam Foundation. The opening stimulates all senses and is organized in collaboration with Paradiso. Be enchanted and experience 'The Essence of Woman' through sound, sight, smell, taste and touch. Be the first to experience the exclusive perfume created by Bernardo Fleming for GIRL, YOU'LL BE A WOMAN SOON, diffused through Paradiso as a memorable 'scent event'. The scent is inspired by the muses selected by founding director and curator Jamain Brigitha. The muses are at the opening to receive the perfume in a special opening ceremony. The spectaculair evening features film, video, music, live performance and poetry by several artists, amongst others, Jesper Just (DK), Mia Berg (SWE), Wonder Allen Smith (UK), VJ Danielle Kwaaitaal (NL) and DJ Jonny Wanha (FI). Joan As Police Woman (USA) crowns the evening with an amazing 90 minute concert. The event also takes place at other locations in Amsterdam from October 30 until December 5, 2012.

Joan Wasser (born July 26, 1970 in Biddeford, Maine, USA) is a violinist, guitarist and singer/songwriter. She describes her music as  "punk rock R&B" and "American soul music". Joan as Police Woman combine two of the biggest influences on her music: classic soul such as Al Green and Nina Simone and the rougher, experimental sounds of Sonic Youth and Bad Brains. She began her career playing violin with the Dambuilders. She has released three albums as a singer/songwriter: Real Life (2006), To Survive (2008), and The Deep Field (2011). Her impressive resume includes live performances and studio work with Lou Reed, Tanya Donelly, Sheryl Crow, Sparklehorse, Dave Gahan, Elton John, the Scissor Sisters, Antony and the Johnsons, Guillemots, Joseph Arthur, Rufus Wainwright, Fan Modine, and Lloyd Cole.
