city and colour is het soloproject van de Canadese muzikant Dallas Green, die bekend werd als zanger en gitarist van post-harcoreband Alexisonfire. Naast al het gitaargeweld van Alexisonfire, waar hij overigens nog steeds in speelt, besloot hij in 2005 ook solowerk uit te gaan brengen als city and colour. Dit bleek een schot in de roos: alle vijf de albums die hij tot nu toe uitbracht gingen platinum en wereldwijd speelt hij louter in grote, uitverkochte zalen. Na vier jaar afwezigheid – zijn laatste concert in Nederland was in 2016 – komt Green in februari terug naar Paradiso.

Intiem duo-concert

Vanwege persoonlijke redenen heeft City and Colour (Dallas Green) besloten deze Europese tournee als duo op te treden, in plaats met een voltallige liveband. Hij zal enkel spelen met Matt Kelly, die o.a. de piano, pedal steel gitaar en de toetsen voor zijn rekening neemt.

Het complete statement en de beweegredenen van City and Colour:

''Last year was very emotional. I experienced some giant joys and huge sorrows both publicly and privately. It was a physically and mentally draining time. After losing Karl ''horse'' Bareham, my dear friend and collaborator, a week before ''A Pill For Loneliness'' was released, it just hasn't felt right touring as if it's just another record cycle. Because it isn't.

I realized, if I want to keep touring, I have to make some changes. I decided I'm going to perform my upcoming tours mostly solo, accompanied by my longtime friend and multi-instrumentalist Matt Kelly.

I'm very thankful to my band and crew for their continued support and understanding. I didn't take this decision lightly. I just know it is in my best interest to calm my world down.

So, I'll be playing tunes from all of the records, some that I haven't played in years and maybe even some I've never played at all.

I hope everyone understands, just need to find my way back to the light.

Route naar Paradiso

Paradiso is gevestigd aan de Weteringschans 6-8. Dat is dicht bij het Leidseplein en goed bereikbaar met het openbaar vervoer (metro 52 en diverse trams). Je kunt je fiets gratis en bewaakt parkeren in de ondergrondse parkeergarage op het Leidseplein. In de buurt van Paradiso zijn meerdere parkeergarages.
