Bonobo + Jens Kuross

Bonobo, de artiestennaam van de Britse producer en dj Simon Green, komt 13 januari eindelijk met een nieuw album, zijn zesde: “Migration”. Het bevat gastbijdragen van o.a. Michael Milosh van Rhye, Nick Murphy (voorheen bekend als Chet Faker), Nicole Miglis van de band Hundred Waters en de Marokkaanse band, opererend vanuit New York, Innov Gnawa. Als dj heeft hij de afgelopen tijd al diverse tracks getest en nu is het tijd om weer met band op stap te gaan. Sinds zijn doorbraakalbum ‘Black Sands’ (2010) is hij uitgegroeid tot de trots van het label Ninja Tune. Hij stapelt muzikale invloeden uit de hele wereld op achteroverleunende dancetunes en warme basgrooves.

Over het nieuwe album vertelt Simon Green: “It’s interesting how one person will take an influence from one part of the world and move with that influence and effect another part of the world. Over time, the identities of places evolve. My own personal idea of identity has played into this record and the theme of migration. Is home where you are or where you are from, when you move around?”
