Paradiso presenteert Xiu Xiu in Bitterzoet. Adres: Spuistraat 2, Amsterdam.
Jamie Stewart, de frontman van de Amerikaanse band Xiu Xiu, klinkt net zo bezeten als David Byrne van de Talking Heads en net zo diep als Duran-Duran-zanger Simon Le Bon. De muziek gaat van gruizige avant-pop tot kunstig georkesteerde rock, synthpop en zware noise. Het kan doen denken aan een variatie aan artiesten als Swans, Liars, Grouper en Deerhoof. Het nieuwste album ‘FORGET’ komt in februari uit en maakte Stewart weer met ander vast bandlid Angela Seo, sinds 2009 van vaste waarde binnen de band.
