Statement: "Unfortunately, due to the current ongoing Covid 19 situations and the complications this causes for international travel, Vetiver and Josh Rouse have had to cancel their February 2022 tour as it is not possible to reschedule this co-headline run. Both artists look forward to returning to EU/UK next time. All tickets will be refunded at their point of purchase."

Op 18 februari 2022 staan er twee veelzijdige, Amerikaanse folkartiesten op het podium in Paradiso. Roots/pop singer-songwriter Josh Rouse, geboren in Nebraska, en de vijfkoppige freakfolkband Vetiver, afkomstig uit San Francisco. Laatsgenoemde opereert onder leiding van Andy Cabic, een goede vriend van Devendra Banhart die in datzelfde genre beweegt, en waarmee de band afgelopen jaar nog in een uitverkocht Paradiso speelde. Onlangs vercheen 'Up On High', een zoetgevooisde plaat met luchtige, maar pakkende folkpop. Josh Rouse bracht in 1998 zijn debuutalbum 'Dressed Up Like Nebraska' uit, maar brak pas in 2003 écht door met '1972'. Opvolger 'Nashville' was minstens zo succesvol; het album bereikte de top 100 UK album chart. Hierna is Rouse naar Spanje verhuisd, in zijn huidige muziek hoor je dan ook invloeden uit Spaanse en Latijns-Amerikaanse muziek.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
