Vijftig jaar geleden stond Ural Thomas in het voorprogramma van muzieklegendes zoals Otis Redding, The Rolling Stones en Stevie Wonder. De wereld lag aan zijn voeten, maar de harde muziekindustrie bleek de Amerikaanse soulzanger tegen te vallen. Teleurgesteld trok Ural Thomas zich in de vroege jaren '70 terug in het rustige Portland. Daar organiseert hij tot op de dag van vandaag wekelijkse jamsessies. Dit vormt de basis van een onverwachte nieuwe muzikale carrière. Ondanks dat Ural Thomas binnenkort de respectabele leeftijd van 80 jaar bereikt, staat hij met zijn begeleidingsband The Pain nog steeds vol overgave op het podium.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
