Opgericht door Merrill Garbus in 2006, is Tune-Yards een naam geworden die synoniem staat voor creativiteit en voorwaartse beweging. Bekend om hun explosieve optredens, verrassende structuren en dansbare ritmes, benadrukt hun muziek ook verbanden tussen liedjes en sociaal bewustzijn. De New York Times prees hun debuutalbum BiRd-BrAiNs, als “het openingssalvo van een zelfverzekerde doe-het-zelver”, en onophoudelijk toeren vestigde Garbus als een indrukwekkende live-artiest. Het duo heeft hun zesde studioplaat, 'Better Dreaming', die op 16 mei 2025 wordt uitgebracht op 4AD. Hun kunstenaarschap blijft zich uitbreiden in muziek, film en televisie.

How to get to Tolhuistuin

Tolhuistuin (formerly Paradiso Noord) is located at IJpromenade 2 in Amsterdam North. A free ferry is departing from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. Turn left and you’ll walk into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance is used (Buiksloterweg 5C), which can be reached via the Overhoeksplein.

Restaurant
Tolhuistuin also has a restaurant in which you can have a bite before the show. We advise to make a reservation in advance via this website.
