Toyomansi presenteert Kabayan: een avond ter ere van de Filipijnse Onafhankelijkheidsdag

Tijdens Kabayan (vertaling: fellow countryman/coming from the same country) staat de Filipijnse gemeenschap in Nederland centraal. Wat is hun geschiedenis en wat betekent de cultuur voor Filipinos hier? De avond vindt plaats in de week van de Filipijnse Onafhankelijkheidsdag - jaarlijks gevierd op 12 juni. De Filippijnen werden in 1898 onafhankelijk van Spaanse kolonisatie.

Dit evenement is georganiseerd door Toyomansi, een community van jonge generatie Filipinos. Met onder andere live evenementen willen zij de representatie van Filipinos in Nederland vergroten, verbinden en de diversiteit van de community laten zien.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
