Torres is Mackenzie Scott uit Nashville, Tennessee. De singer-songwriter maakt intrigerende indierock. Met haar emotioneel geladen stem en haar ruwe gitaarspel is ze als een jonge mix van PJ Harvey en Lucinda Williams. Haar debuutalbum kwam uit in 2013 uit en werd jubelend ontvangen. Het vervolg 'Sprinter' is wat steviger en zorgde opnieuw voor lovende recensies. Dit jaar tekende Torres bij het gerenommeerde label 4AD. Single 'Skim' is het eerste nieuwe materiaal dat we van haar horen.
