Aanvankelijk had Tom Grennan een glansrijke toekomst in het betaalde voetbal. De Londense singer-songwriter speelde onder meer al voor Aston Villa, dat op het hoogste niveau in Engeland uitkomt. Toch was dat niet wat Grennan wilden, stopte met voetbal en dook in de muziek. Hij werd in één klap bekend door de vocalen voor het nummer 'When It All Goes Wrong' van Chase & Status te verzorgen. Solowerk volgt al snel in de vorm van zijn debuut EP 'Something In The Water', geproduceerd door Charlie Hugall (Florence + The Machine, The Maccabees). De cirkel werd weer rond toen zijn nummer 'Found What I've Been Looking For' werd opgenomen in de playlist van het razend populaire voetbalspel FIFA 18. Zijn debuutalbum verschijnt begin volgend jaar.
