In 2012 stond Tim Knol vooraan bij het concert van Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers in Amsterdam. Wat toen een vonk was, groeide uit tot een diepe liefde voor de muziek en liedjes van Tom Petty. Na eerdere tributes aan Bob Dylan en Gram Parsons brengt Tim Knol nu, samen met zijn band The Wandering Hearts, een eerbetoon aan een van zijn muzikale helden. Met veel liefde en vakmanschap spelen ze liedjes die Petty opnam met The Heartbreakers, maar ook nummers uit Petty’s solocarrière, Mudcrutch en The Traveling Wilburys komen voorbij. Van bekende hits tot verborgen parels: deze avond is een muzikale reis door het indrukwekkende oeuvre van Tom Petty.

Tim kondigde het optreden ook aan op zijn eigen nieuwsbode. Daar kun je ook aangeven welk nummer van Tom Petty niet overgeslagen mag worden.

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers trad één keer op in Paradiso, op 4 juni 1977 als onderdeel van Festival of Fools. Een ticket kostte 7,50 gulden.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
