Third Culture Club

Saturday 22 June

In Parallel

Doors: 23:59

  • Access 18 years and over only

Calling all products of Migrating birds! After our first 'sold-out' edition, we're back for a second round of 'Third Culture Club'. A club somewhere between cultures with an emphasis on sounds from the Global-South!

As our world gets more connected, we live more in-between cultures with our identities layered and our lifestyles merged. Third Culture Club aims to combine all these aspects into a new night, a third culture, where borders evaporate and we playfully combine our identities through music. We invite DJ's who mix sounds that narrate their lived experience, languages and identities. A Global South infused auditorial experience into the A.M. at @parallel.am

For this night we have a hefty line-up with the Egyptian Disco Arabesquo the Iranian Icons Mehran & Hani as well as the Syrian Queen Noise Diva. You will hear SWANA rhythms with electronic sounds, Palestinian Rap, Amapiano, Punjabi UKG, Hip-Hop & R&B, Shaami Killers, Persian Disco, Brazilian Baile Funk, Egyptian Mahraganat, Carribean-Dutch Bubbling, Obscure Bedouin Bounce and beyond.

How to get to Parallel

Parallel is located at Buiksloterweg 5C in Amsterdam North, at the rear end of the Tolhuistuin building. To get there, catch one of the free ferries departing from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. Upon crossing the IJ river, take an immediate left and cross the Volewijck bridge. Turn right and continue walking until you reach Overhoeksplein. Here, you will find the Galgenveld bridge to your right. Crossing it, you will find the Tolhuistuin archway and Parallel’s entrance.
